Dog whispering is more a general philosophy of training than a particular technique. It involves understanding clearly the dynamics within a dog pack and using that to our advantage. If you've watched Cesar Millan on television you will know the concept of dog whispering and how it can rapidly change dog behavior problems. Dog whispering emphasises establishing yourself as a calm assertive leader - the pack leader or alpha dog. You become a student of dog behavior and dog psychology and use it to your advantage.

Health-related problems are covered at this level and also more advanced obedience commands and tricks.

What I Particularly Like About It

Personally, I like the dog whispering approach to training. I have found that if I understand dog behavior and psychology in depth, then it makes training a dog so much easier. Because I'm not fighting against the natural behavior and instincts of the dog but rather taking advantage of it. It's a bit like the martial arts of aikido and tai chi where you use the force of the opponent rather than blocking it directly.

I also like that it uses positive reinforcement methods and no punishment is involved. You don't need to shout or rub your dog's nose in anything which are hopefully outdated methods today.
